I cordially invite you to join me in 2026 for a year of writing together. Twice a month a group of like-hearted 💚 writers gather for 1.5 hours (Wednesdays from 3 to 4:30 PST) to write and share on various topics relating to and inspired by the natural world.

By the first of each month, I send out an email with two topics and the Zoom link to give you plenty of time to check your calendar and marinate in ideas, before we gather virtually.

This year the 24-word list is inspired by a lovely book that longtime participant Sue N. gifted me called, the lost words: a Spell Book by writer Robert Macfarlane, with illustrations by Jackie Morris. The book is an artistic and poetic response to the dismay that Macfarlane felt when he learned that the Oxford Junior Illustrated Dictionary had removed around 50 nature words to make room for “modern" words like analogue, block graph, broadband, and celebrity.

I'm not arguing for a world of luddites; neither am I arguing for a dictionary remiss of beloved Gaia. It will come as no surprise to you that the balance is difficult to maintain.

Always the rebel, I wanted to honor some of these words by keeping them alive in our own writing. We will explore the word literally and figuratively, inspired as well, by curated poems, prose, imagery, and whatever is happening on the lunar calendar.

The format opens with a short meditation and then two to three writing prompts. Our time together closes with sharing, listening, and receiving insights from the sacred circle of attendees that will sustain you until our next gathering.

Testimonial

Christina’s classes and monthly writing circles are a wonderful, creative space for participants to express themselves freely through their writing. She combines a variety of prompts, themes and the works of celebrated authors to inspire the “writer within” to give voice to what is truly meaningful in their own life. The sharing and reflections are deeply insightful.
